There’s an invisible image
in the light
streaming through
the windows at dawn,
A memory of 5 am conversations
that lingers
like the haunting notes
of a song.
A million cares rage on
as the day progresses,
We get back to the grind,
left with little choice.
But our minds keep
conjuring up your face,
We still hear your musings
echo your voice.
We wander through your
bucket list of dreams,
Your presence palpable
amidst a cacophony of noise.
We marvel at the intuition
you were guided by,
As you went about
Collecting life’s little joys.
You spoke of aliens
and supermassive black holes,
You explained Beethoven
through algorithms and charts,
You discussed Van Gogh’s
masterpiece,
And carved your way
right into our hearts.
You taught us that
spirituality and science
can coexist,
Cause everything in
the universe follows a pattern,
You lit a million stars
in our eyes,
As you gave us a glimpse
of the rings of Saturn.
You left traces of laughter,
in the shadows around our eyes,
All those who had crumbled to dust,
― it’s you who helped them rise,
As you light up galaxies
with your brilliance today,
I wonder if you realise,
Our prayers glow next to you,
Like teardrops frozen in the skies.
Your kindness is a gift
We’ll treasure for life,
Our memory will cling forever
to every word you spoke,
Our love will find
you beyond the grave,
The day
we disintegrate to smoke.
